Our Boats

The Winnipeg Yawl is a fiberglass center-console boat in 21 and 23 foot lengths. Originating in Iceland, the yawl-style boat is characterized by its stability, ease in rough water, and over 70 years of use on Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The hull is a semi-displacement hull. It doesn’t have to ‘get up on plane’ to go fast, and it will give you a smooth ride in rough water whether traveling at 5 mph or 25 mph. It also is designed to carry heavy loads without losing its seaworthiness.

The boat has a narrow beam compared to other boats on the market. This allows it to easily slice through the waves like a knife rather than “smacking” or “slapping” the waves.

The bow is higher than most other boats to keep people in and water out.
The stern has a broad, flat, and rounded edge to keep its stability in the water, even with a narrow beam.

Even with a narrow beam, the Winnipeg Yawl is very stable. Because of its unique construction, it has an extremely low center of gravity which keeps it upright even in the roughest water.
